Story Behind This Song

Early on in my dad’s battle with cancer, I was constantly praying for God to increase my faith…to help me believe and not doubt. I wanted to pray the kind of prayer that would move mountains…that would part seas. And yet the circumstances looked impossible.

Sometimes we think we have a faith that cannot be shaken…or like Peter, we are convinced that we’d never deny our God…but then something happens that strikes a tender nerve, and suddenly, before we can blink, we’ve denied Him three times. One thing God has reminded me of during this time is that the more I fix my eyes on Jesus, the smaller my circumstance becomes. But the more I fix my eyes on my circumstance, the smaller God becomes in my eyes. Remember, Peter could only walk on water when he steadied his gaze on Jesus.

As I dug into the word of God looking for answers, I was reminded of His unbelievable track record. The bottom line is that He is the same yesterday today and forever. He has not changed, nor has his ability to heal the sick, raise the dead, save the lost, or slay a giant with a single stone. Age to age, He is STILL God, and nothing is impossible with Him.
