Story Behind This Song

I wrote this song during a time in my life when things just seemed to be unraveling. My middle son was experiencing a lot of developmental issues as a baby, I had a health scare, and we were struggling with our finances. There were so many reasons to worry, so many unknowns, but I determined in my heart that I would not forfeit my peace and live in defeat. I knew God wanted me to experience joy in the midst of my circumstances, so I kept repeating Philippians 4:4-8 in my head, asking God to help me fix my eyes on Him and rest in His promises. In no time, the scriptures turned into a song.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
