Story Behind This Song

I wrote this song after reading through the Psalms. I look at David’s life, and I see a worshipper, a warrior, a man after God’s own heart…and I also see a man who was being attacked on every side. We forget sometimes that having to face “spiritual warfare” comes with the territory of being a follower of Christ. That’s why from time to time I need to remind myself that I am not wrestling against flesh and blood, ‘but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.’ (Ephesians 6:12) But thank God the battle is not mine to fight. Jesus already won that war on Calvary. “He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalms 62:6
