Story Behind This Song

I look back at times in my life when I tried to create my own peace…discover happiness in meaningless things, and every time, it only led me to emptiness. I think the most dangerous tendency in humanity is just that…chasing the illusion that we can do it ourselves. If we work hard enough, if we play hard enough, if we find the right person, if we have enough stuff…we’ll somehow find contentment. It’s kind of like walking through the desert, completely parched, looking for something to quench your excruciating thirst, but finding that your fingers are slipping through one elusive mirage after another. I have found that Jesus, the true living water, is the only who can quench my thirst, the only one who can give me hope, the only one who can awaken my soul to abundant life and purpose.
