Story Behind This Song

This song, I honestly wrote out of sheer frustration with myself. I had begun to recognize an ugly pattern in my life, where I would find myself in a difficult circumstance, attempt to “fix it” myself, try to understand it myself, fail to understand it, become fearful, doubt God’s sovereignty, ultimately see God’s hand miraculously moving in the midst of the circumstance, repent for not trusting Him, get back in right relationship with Him, and not long after…repeat the cycle again! I felt like the Israelites, who would see miracle after miracle…manna falling from heaven, water coming from rocks, the red sea parting....and still, as soon as they felt hungry again, they turned on God and begged to go back to captivity in Egypt! I determined in my heart as I wrote this song that I would not go on living that way, and that no matter what, I would choose to remember the goodness, faithfulness, and sovereignty of God.
